Michelle and I are both proud GSU Eagles, and Statesboro (or better known as "the 'Boro") has a very unique culture to it. I thought I'd share with you today some of the things that set our school apart from others, especially from schools that are not in the South.
10 Ways you know you are a female Georgia Southern student:
1. You own all of the following: Sperry Topsiders, a Black Northface, and Rainbow flip flops.
2. You wear said Rainbows (or any flip flops, really) 11 out of the 12 months of the year. December is an iffy month, but if the temperature is above 40 degrees, then you're generally good to go. Sure your feet may be a little chilly, but the 'Boro is in the deep South, so it just seems like it should be allowed.
3. When people say "Georgia"...you automatically want to respond by shouting "SOOOOOOUTHERN!!"
4. You're laying out by the pool in February. No...you don't go IN the pool. That would be crazy. You just lay out next to it.

| This was really taken this past February while laying out |
5. Your closet is filled with blue and white dresses (with gold accents) because that is the uniform for football games...you could wear jeans, but in 80-110 degree weather, it would probably be cooler to sit in an oven.

| Okay, so Julia (in the middle) is wearing shorts, but we'll forgive her |
6. Happy hour is basically a required class. I think the administration is considering adding it to our Core Curriculum list.
7. You're obsessed with La'Berry Frozen Yogurt. Not only did it JUST open this year and you're already on your 3rd punch card, but you follow them on Facebook AND Twitter to get updates on when they change flavors.
8. On Monday, you're out by the pool. On Tuesday, It's foggy and raining (but of course, you don't have your umbrella with you). On Wednesday, more rain, but this time it is joined by 100% humidity. On Thursday, it is 50 degrees, and you're in the aforementioned Northface fleece and a scarf (because that is your version of winter wear). And finally, on Friday, it is back to 80 degrees and just in time, because you're bikini from Monday is now clean again and you've headed back out to the pool.
9. During finals week, the entire campus is partying till 6 in the mornin' at Club Henderson. What others may not know is that "Club Henderson" is actually our library (Henderson Library) and that nickname was created as an attempt at making studying sound fun so we don't cry ourselves to sleep from all the stress.
10. And finally...you know you are a female student at Georgia Southern when you met some of your best friends while in line for the bathroom at the bar because, well, we're that laid back in the 'Boro.
That's all for me folks! I've thoroughly enjoyed guest blogging today! Please hit me up at Mambo Gook and have a FANTASTIC and happy hump-day!
Much love,
-Michelle-
